Happy Monday!
Not a lot to recap this weekend! We went to Central Rock Gym with some gymnastics friends. My son loves it here and has been climbing since he was small. I took the belay class (to save money on hiring someone to belay him) and it's a really nice mother-son activity! He loves it and it keeps us both active. Highly recommend it if you have an active tween/teen and want to do something together.
The remainder of the weekend was spent going through closets and seeing what still fits (my son grew a lot this year!) so I had a lot to donate or pass along to friends with younger kids. We changed how we use a few of the rooms in the house, so I needed to organize quite a bit too. My son asked to use one of the guest rooms as a hang out room for his friends (think video games, playing guitar, that sort of thing) so I said yes and I've been working on that. We do have a finished basement (it's an older house, and it's not nicely finished) so that's used for workout equipment. He wanted a space to hang out in that wasn't his room, and I was happy to say yes. The space isn't done yet, but I chipped away at some organizing and donating to help get it there. Is it just me, or is it hard to start the new school year without feeling organized? I know some people feel that way at New Years, but the "new year" to me is the start of the new school year! Share any tips/tricks you have :)
This is the last week before school starts at most schools in my area (Massachusetts).
We are slowly easing back into a schedule and some normalcy. My son's gymnastics fall schedule starts back up this week, and then school the following week. I like that it gives us a little bit of a slow start back into our schedule. I work full time so I'm using whatever free time I can find to get us back into an organized schedule.
Have a great day! Tomorrow I'm going to share my favorite Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookie recipe that makes a ton and is fantastic for back to school.
